Our Location History

A Craft Distillery with a Rich History and Unique Charm

Our distillery is located at the site of a significant piece of local history.

In the 1890s, Leander Baltzer began beverage bottling in Covington when he founded Covington Bottling Works.

In 1909, Baltzer acquired the rights to bottle Coca-Cola from J. D. Pidgeon of Memphis, forming a partnership that created the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Covington.

This first Coca-Cola bottling location was situated in Covington’s Depot area, in the very site that is now home to 797 Distillery.

Later, the location was used by World Wide Art Studios, known for making custom ceramic plates.

We often wonder if Baltzer could have ever imagined that a distillery would one day call his bottling site home. Today, we honor this storied past while crafting our own legacy by offering visitors an exceptional craft-distilling experience.
